Woes of Working in Customer Service Vol. II

There are many things that one learns about people when they work in customer service. One thing that I have learned in my years of customer service work is that people have an inability to LISTEN! This is especially frustrating to an introvert who does not enjoy talking to people that they don't know....and yes I know that I am in the wrong line of work since I don't enjoy talking to people I don't know but that is beside the point.

Reading Addiction

Another fun fact about me is that I have a reading addiction.  I love reading because it provides an escape from the real world.  This is especially nice when I am feeling stressed by the real world.  When that happens I can escape into another world to get away from my life and problems for a short while.  I have a book shelf full of unread books because I have a bad habit of buying them faster then I can read them.  This fact is not helped by the fact that I go through reading slumps where I just can not pick up a book to save my life.  Now that's not to say that I'm not reading during those slumps.  

Woes of Working in Customer Service Vol. I

So a fun fact about me is I work in customer service.  Let me tell you…it is a super fun place to work some days.  Any of you that also work in customer service know that the people who come in are not always the brightest crayon in the box.  When you work in customer service you see all kinds of interesting things… as well as annoying.  There are just some things that people do that that make me think to myself “Really?  Really? OMG REALLY?”  So that being said I thought I would start a series of blogs entitled Woes of Working in Customer Service.  It is just a place where I can vent about the crazy things I deal with at work….and hopefully open other people’s eyes so that maybe they don’t do those things in the future…I’m just saying *shrugs*.
